Microblading is performed using a manual, disposable, hand held tool. The tool is composed of tiny needles, resembling the shape of a blade, to hand draw each individual hair and simultaneously implant pigment into the skin. Each new hairstroke that is drawn is meant to mimic a natural hair and seamlessly blend in with the clients existing eyebrows to add colour and fullness, resulting in a very natural result. Microblading tends to be more suited to those with ‘normal’ skin and small pores. Clients with oily skin and open pores are more suited to a powder or combination brow.

What Style is best for me?
The eyebrow technique style is heavily dependent on the skin and natural hair growth. There are many factors that can influence the style that we choose. If you are unsure on your preference do not worry, before we begin the treatment there will be a detailed consultation to discuss all your options regarding shape, style and colour.
We use soft pigments for eyebrows ensuring they will fade over the next few years - this gives you a chance to change the shape, colour and style if you wish on the Yearly Top Up.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is microblading?
Microblading is a specialised tattooing technique that produces semi-permanent enhancement of your eyebrows. A microblade is an instrument that has tiny needles. When scratched over the skin surface, the fine needles break the skin, and the hypoallergenic pigment is absorbed into the fine cuts. This results in lines that resemble your eyebrow hairs. A combination of upward and angled strokes gives a natural three-dimensional appearance, blending perfectly with your natural eyebrows.
How long does microblading last?
Depending on how well you look after your new brows, your skin type and the amount of UV exposure, brows should last between 12-24 months; lips 18-24 months. A colour boost will be required after this time, to keep them looking fresh; this is priced accordingly.
What are the benefits of Microblading?
Eyebrow microblading will give you that well-groomed look and add youthfulness to your appearance. But that’s not all. This is a perfect procedure if your eyebrows are sparse, fair, thinning with age, or from abnormal hair loss. Eyebrow microblading in Sydney creates flawless eyebrows and a natural full-brow look. Plus, it’s maintenance-free, lasting up to eighteen months and, in some people, even longer.
- Suitable for everyone. The good news is that people with allergies or sensitive skin don’t have to miss out. Our hypoallergenic pigments are perfect for people with sensitive skin and those who have developed sensitivity to cosmetic products.
- Minimally invasive. Microblading has very little downtime because it is a minimally invasive procedure.
- Convenience. You can cut out your eyebrow regimen. Your perfectly shaped eyebrows look stunning whether you have just gotten out of bed or had a hard workout in the gym!
Can everyone have microblading?
Microbalding can not be performed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
You have to be off any Acne medication for at least 12 months.
If you suffer from cold sores in the treatment area you must ask your Doctor for a prescription of Aciclovir tablets prior to your appointment. If you are unable to get them, with enough notice, we may be able to arrange a private prescription (charges will apply).
If your lips are excessively dry or chapped we will not be able to carry out your treatment – please make sure you exfoliate and balm your lips for at least a week before your appointment.
If you are taking any medication that thins the blood, have an autoimmune disorder or medical condition it must be disclosed before booking, a doctors consent form may be required or in some cases treatment will not be possible.
What happens on the day?
I spend a lot of time drawing the design on your face so you get an idea of shape and form. I don’t use stencils, I work with your own natural bone structure. Everyone is different and one eyebrow shape does not suit all. I take a photo of you and your design and work with the symmetry of your face making sure that when you are in a relaxed state your makeup is as even as possible. Everything is a bespoke design to you. I use a Sterile micro-pigmentation tool and disposable blades during your procedure. I use EU Regulated Permanent Makeup high quality pigments, specially manufactured for micro-pigmentation.
Does Microblading Hurt
A Highly effective medical grade topical anesthetic cream is used for numbing before and during your procedure. Pain threshold levels differ from person to person. We will make every effort to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of your procedure. Having this procedure during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure. If you are a frequent smoker the topical anesthetic may not last as long. If you have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.
What Can I Expect
Healing can be a very hard process for some. Everyone's skin is different. Although eyebrow Microblading is effective in most cases, no guarantee can be made that everyone will benefit from the procedure. Microblading heals about 30-50% lighter than the initial service. If you have very dark hair please know the pigment may heal lighter than your natural hair color. Generally, the results are excellent but it very much depends on your skin texture, oiliness, and aftercare. There are many factors that could affect your healing.
your new microbladed eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle.
1. FIRST- The pigment will appear very sharp and dark immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin, and has not yet settled in completely. Your brow area may be slightly swollen and your brows may look/feel slightly larger. While some are ok with this, some have a very hard time - just breathe, give it time and trust the process.
2. NEXT – The color of the pigment will soften gradually, for some, the pigment may seem to disappear. Again, just breathe and trust the process. Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab, as this is excess pigment and/or lymph exiting the skin. Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly, however, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally sloughed from your eyebrows. Your brows may develop some undesirable scabbing. DO NOT PICK! I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT PICK.
3. AFTERCARE – I will give you complete aftercare instructions which you MUST follow! 50% of your results are my technique and the other 50% is ON YOU!
How do I choose a colour
I have an enormous range of blend-able colours and an artist who loves to customise. Colour swatches are available to look through. I prefer to go with your natural brow colour (or a shade darker) this just means they will age better with you.
I Have Previously Had My Eyebrows Done Elsewhere Are you Able To Cover Them Up For Me?
All clients with previous microblading or brow tattoo work from another studio MUST first send a photo of your makeup-free brows to 07518414203 or hello@saltstudio.uk prior to booking an appointment. Please be sure to include your name and how long ago you received your initial service. For cover-up or correction work, the best candidates are those with previous tattoos that have faded 70-80%, however, we still need to make sure by analysing a photo of your bare brows.
